Artist and founder of 'Just North of Normal', Kelly Rychkun, creates extraordinary wood pieces, builds custom wood furniture, and restores wood giving it new life with new purpose. She approaches each piece with wunderlust and imagination, and incorporates recycled and environmentally friendly materials, and, if desired, objects of sentimental value.

Kelly's creations were featured in two galleries in Granville Island in Vancouver. The internationally recognized photographer, Karen Cooper Gallery, has approached Kelly to collaborate on a piece named "As it exists in our souls" which features the photographer's photograph in one of Kelly's eclectic wood creations (see "custom pieces"), and the world renowned award winning custom jewellery designer Michael Dean of the Michael Dean Gallery has commissioned Kelly to make jewellery boxes incorporating her unique creative flair (see "boxes").
